Wonderful adventure-fantasy...plus Hayley Mills!
By HD (148 reviews) from West Midlands , 09 Feb 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
Wonderful adventure-fantasy has a jolly, ne'er-do-well Frenchman helping two children convince a ship's captain that the kids' father, a legendary captain lost at sea, is shipwrecked on an island off South America. It works, and the whole gang faces every form of a raging Mother Nature trying to reach the castaway. Hayley Mills is at the peak of her ladylike charms here, never lovelier than when singing 'Castaway' by guitar or cooking breakfast with Maurice Chevalier in a treetop. Chevalier himself is a wily coot, and Wilfred Hyde-White is also extremely amusing. A gorgeously produced Disney yarn with all the requisite pleasures.10 - 10- Was this review helpful to you?

Heart warming
By HugoP (5 reviews) from Edinburgh , 05 Aug 2009I had not seen this for years but like a good wine it was as enticing as ever. Maurice 'Let's Climb' Chavalier twinkles nicely, George Saunders is at his villainous best and Hayley Mills simply adorable.- Was this review helpful to you?
