Polars and Ewan - AwBy Amanda from England , 07 Jul 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]This is a great documentry about Polar bears which you will learn a lot about there lives and who to help us with the journey than Ewan himself. Ewan is a perfect fit for these animals, he is so keyed in with nature and it is amazing to see how devoted he is to these creatures. If you love Ewan Mcgregor this is something to watch as you will love him more....especially with his preview of his singing voice and guitar. Ewan is a kind hearted man and watching him with these animals is lovely to watch. Ewan and polar bears.....who would be stupid not to watch it.

Great film!By a customer from Reading , 05 Nov 2010I had previously seen this on television, but decided to see it again. I was fascinated by the insight of Arctic life and the co-existence of the populace and the polar bears. I have always found these creatures interesting and always enjoy films with Ewan McGregor in - a film to watch over and over and a reminder of the delicate situation of the bear's habitat due to melting of the Arctic ice.
Great for both Ewan and Bear FansBy Alexxe (38 reviews) from Glasgow , 14 Nov 2009
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideBeing Canadian, I have seen this special before but I remembered enjoying it so much, I rented it again.
I have heard that Ewan is not happy about this being available on DVD as he has not been paid properly for his work on it. It's a shame about that, but it's hard to resist. It's a younger less jaded Ewan we see here - amazed as a child at the world of the Polar Bears in Churchill Manitoba.
There is excellent footage of these lethal animals poking around the vehicles like little kids with a toy. It is also a great doc on the co-existence between the humans and the bears in this area.
There is also the opportunity to hear Ewan play guitar and sing some beautiful Scottish songs.
Dire ego festBy a customer from Oxford , 26 Aug 2009Unfortunately, half a star is the lowest rating I can give. Dire ego fest featuring vast amounts of Mr. McGregor & very few polar bears. If you enjoy watching film star egos being massaged then you'll love this, otherwise avoid.
Maybe He Should Have Done It With A Motorbike??By JustAFanTC (121 reviews) from Leeds , 13 Jul 2009I love to see the rich and famous have experiences like this - it just amazes me that they never did them before with the money they earn. To be in the company with an animal as spellbinding as a Polar Bear too is definetly something to take advantage of, Yet.........
the only thing interesting to watch are the animals themselves. Sure, Ewan McGregor is his charming self, but throughout the whole documentary it seems like he has been dragged in front of the camera at the last minute and doesn't know what's going on.
To be honest, stay clear of this, there are plenty of Documentaries which are much better, but it is worth a watch for the bears, but that is all.
