    See it again

"Raiders" is the first and best of the Indiana Jones movies.

I have a hard time believing that anyone hasn't seen this movie so I'll skip the plot and go straight for the main reason you should watch it again. The transfer to DVD is absoloutely stunning, probably the most impressive clean up I've ever seen. It really looks as though it could've been filmed yesterday.

The sound has been given a nice makeover as well. Forever a classic, this movie can't be seen too many times.

Snakes! Why'd it have to be snakes?

The first and definitely the best in the Indiana Jones trilogy, this film has everything to offer. It is the 1930s. Indiana Jones, a lecturer on archaeology and part time adventurer, is told that Hitler is after the lost ark of the covenant, the one that Moses put the 10 commandments into. Naturally the Americans want it first. Never one to pass up a challenge, Indy sets off on a dangerous mission to find it before the evil Nazis. Unlike "The Mummy", this film is not packed full of CGI. As a result, it is more realistic. The storyline is both clever and humorous and the acting is superb. Harrison is rugged and gorgeous and Marion (the love interest) provides adequate eye-candy for the male audience. My particular fave is Jon Rhys Jones playing a jolly Egyptian with a lovely Welsh accent. A Lucas/Spielberg piece of art, this film can quite comfortably be watched repeatedly.

    Great action classic

Timeless and still exciting, this early Spielberg adventure lacks the special effects of modern action adventures but makes up for it with an interesting plot and a smogasboard of baddies and creepy crawlies.

    Brilliant, timeless classic

This very original film is one of the best, if not the best, adventure films ever made. Great story, brilliant character realised by Harrison Ford and superb set pieces. I grew up watching this and a repeat recent viewing only made me realise what genius work this is.

    Excellent.

It was excellent, frightening and pleasing in one session, over the top but grim!

The snakes were terrifying and the lady ended up in a basket and then reappeared!

Well, what can I say? Some movies don't date very well, but this has everything. Humor, mild horror, romance, action - they should have had that australian dood in this, the one that plays with snakes and crocs and all :) Great movie and well worth the watch, brings back memories of Christmas 1995

Classic film. Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in this high adventure caper. Plenty of action, thrills, spills and excitement. A bit of romance thrown in for good measure. If you can stand the snake scene you will enjoy this film. Rent it if you haven't already seen it!

    Top notch entertainment

In the not so distant past before Video and DVD I used to go to the cinema,

this is where I first saw 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'. Now twenty odd years later and the proud owner of the DVD.

Trilogy box set is still one of the best movies around. A good old school action adventure.
