A tricky film to review as I nearly turned it off after 5 minutes.

I'm really pleased I persevered. It initially looks like it was made for Hallmark or some other cheesey real-life drama network. It is filmed on Digital, as apparently it was made with a Zero budget, which gives it a Made for TV look, but what the filmmakers achieve with their limited resources is quite amazing. A truely moving tale of guilt and redemption. The effects are top drawer too. A labour of love and a hidden gem. It really does deserve an audience.

I rarely write reviews, but this film deserves so much. It's beautifully told, thoroughly off beat, describing the human condition wonderfully. The atmosphere, the music, everything is woven together in an intricate web and is well worth the effort. It'll make you think.

A real pleasure to watch. I loved this film. It is an emotional tale about hope and love fighting to stay ahead of all the things that can drag you down in life. The direction and cinematography is novel and unusual, and succeeds in focusing you on the story and emotion. I guess it reminds me a little of the film, 'City of Angels', starring Meg Ryan and Nicolas Cage, but this film is better. It is nice to watch a film that makes you want to do something positive and fills you with hope. A good film.

A little hard to get into as the style of story telling is very different from the norm which is in fact it's saving grace. It's an original way to tell a story that could otherwise be so predictable... Thank you Ink for a break for a very imaginative film. Great stunts and effects. A thoughtful and well executed film.

  • Words can’t describe this film

I really wanted to simply write WATCH THIS FILM and leave it there. However, I shouldn’t be that blatant, as this is definitely one of those films which won’t appeal to everyone. Personally, I think it’s brilliant, but, if you read some of the internet forums on Ink, you’ll see comments like ‘a film student’s film only’ and ‘a boring mess.’ I wouldn’t describe it as either (but then I did study film at university, so maybe I’m biased?). I guess if you mix a small pinch of Inception with Donnie Darko, add a tablespoon of The Matrix and a healthy portion of Russian sci-fi epic Nightwatch, then set it all to the musical score of a Richard Kelly film, you’re in the right area of Ink. If you like your films quirky and beautifully-shot (including the action sequences), plus have some decent characterisation with some captivating musical scores, then give this one a go. However, if you want wall-to-wall action with little plot, character development and Michael Bay’s name on the credits, steer well clear. You’ll notice I haven’t even mentioned the storyline in this review. If you like this sort of art-house, indie film and are going to watch it, it’s best you don’t. You’ll never get another chance to be amazed at no knowing what’s coming. Plus this is a rare example of what can be achieved with a limited (by Hollywood’s general standards) budget.
