I don't usually bother writing reviews but this film stands out like a piece of beautiful art in a sea of mediocre. I had the same initial feeling as other reviews at first.. but let yourself go with it and I promise the majority of you will be so glad you did! A truly moving and memorable piece of work! It left me feeling emoitionally moved for the good! I have suffered my fair share of pain & loss, and this reminded me how such traumatic events have such a huge soul-searching impact on who you are and what's really important in life. And renewed those feelings reminding me to make every day count. I actually felt impelled to stop feeling sorry for myself and actually make the most of the life I have, rather than focusing on what I lost. I can't say I've ever watched a film like this, that's been refined and produced to this level of expertise. And I've watched a lot of films in the last 2 years of my recuperation.
Y'know how you feel the urge to watch gritty, dark & violent films full of anger & revenge, but then afterwards you dont feel any different or maybe occasionally you feel slightly more stress at having to return to the real world? Well this film does the exact opposite.
I have my own strong beliefs as to what happens when we die, but this paints such a beautiful and profound alternative. I love the way the main character battles with good & evil. The music combined with the effects make for a surreal and yet ethereal performance that only the hardhearted would fail to be stirred by. It portrays so well how in every big decision whether we choose the easy route which unfortunately tends to be the selfish eviler route of the two or if we choose the harder option which 9 out of ten times in life is the loving & kindhearted route, both will undoubtedly have a huge unforeseeable impact on the future You and who you will be in years to come.
We cannot foretell the future but deep inside our conscience knows right from wrong. I guess the most esoteric moral idea that this masterpiece leaves the watcher with is:
No matter how far down a wrong course we
feel entwined, no matter how selfish and
messed up a situation our mistakes have
led us to.. There is ALWAYS a way back!
It is never too late to change & become that
person we thought we would be. Sure we may
have to fight & suffer wounds to get there..
But it is possible to rebuild that peaceful,
wholesomeness in our lives once again!
