This film is up there with the greatest ever made, like Citizen Kane but with a shorter life-span for the main character, and you would like him. All life's issues are crammed into a young mans life. Not everybody will identify with this film, but those of us who have felt the same way about the world will identify strongly. So it is a divisive film which does not sit on the fence. , This is the first time I have bothered to review a film, (I think). I usually avoid American films entirely as crass and self-promoting. This film is worth watching for any thinking person who wants to feel they have learned something, not just been entertained. I want to buy it. I would watch it over and again to understand it fully. The only other U. S. film I have enjoyed that was recent was 'Short Bus', which was as thought provoking but another type of film altogether.

This is one of the best films I've seen. Makes it even better that it is a true story. It makes you reflect on life. Definitely in my top 10 of all time.

I found this film quite moving, with magnificent scenery and an engaging central character. The story holds the attention well enough, although the way it jumps around was confusing at times. But my overall experience was positive, and it gives plenty to think about afterwards.

When you get asked by friends or facebook what your Top 5 movies of all time are, this for me is one of them. Its not only well directed and acted, the fact this is based on a true story is very emotive and a roller coaster of emotions ensues. Dont see it once, see it a few times and take away whatever message reaches you, just see it.

I am actually gob smacked about this film.Yes it was good but shows the selfish side of how human beings can be.He did as he wanted with out thought to his family but,was brought up by parents with a volatile/feuding realtionship between themselves & telling lies to their children.I do feel sorry for the parents but empathise with their son.A film to be watched!
