Invasion USA is an exciting action adventure thriller. Chuck Norris, as always, is the ultimate warrior badass, who is the only man who can save the world. Some may think it is similar to Red Dawn and the United States is invaded by an enemy force, and only a brave few can stop them. In that respect, this film is like Red Dawn, but the difference is rather than being an all-out invasion force of everything (fighter jets, helicopters, tanks, helicopters, paratroopers, spies, more helicopters) when the bad guys invade in this film, they do it covertly, and no one even notices. And anyone who does doesn't live long enough to tell anybody. And rather than occupying the entire country, they hide where no one expects it, attack with terrorist tactics... making the enemy in this film some of the toughest bad guys!
Like any popcorn action movie, it is a bit ridiculous, yes, but I'd hardly call anything where bad guys try to blow up a school bus funny (which is what the Radio Times said!). You may recognise the actor who was the baddy in The Sword and the Sorcerer is also in this film, as the KGB agent leading the takeover of America. He does a good job as the villiain, and goes from being a bad bad guy in The Sword and the Sorcerer to a good bad guy in Invasion USA. Two thumbs up! Great actioneer, and another recommended viewing for a Friday night in with a beer. Long live Chuck Norris!
