Low on budget, sky high on drama!By a customer from UK , 22 Sep 2008
[Highly rated reviewer]Marianne Faithfull gives a truly outstanding performance in what must be her first starring role; her portrayal of Maggie is excellent, a lot of which is down to her body language and facial expressions - you really do feel empathy for the character; a doormat of a woman who has had a hard life and would do literally anything to raise funds for her dying grandson's medical treatment - don't really want to give much else away about the storyline, but as depressing a subject matter as it is, you really do come away from this one feeling good - plus there are some great comedic moments to make you laugh along the way... highly recommended.

Worth a watch - Marianne shines!By PaulHappy (154 reviews) , 12 Feb 2013This is a decent movie - mainly because it stars Marianne Faithful. In real life she has had a very colourful and messy past and yet she has packed a lot into it. In her prime Marianne was very sexy, but in this movie she plays a 60 year old fairly bland widow - yet she still manages to give her a certain edgy appeal. Not always comfortable viewing it does have amusing moments and explores morality not from some lofty height but at the rockface of life. Worth a watch.
great movieBy a customer , 28 Nov 2012This was such an unusual and very well acted film..Marianne faithfull was brilliant as the middle aged dowdy housewife desperate to get money to help her dying grandson in any way she can. RECOMMENDED I was glued to this from start to finish.
Unpredictable, funny and engaging.By a customer , 06 Oct 2012This film came highly recommended to me. An intriguing, unpredictable and funny drama. If you're into no brainer action films don't bother.
Marianne Faithful is excellent as Maggie. My girlfriend loved it and said it would even make her mother laugh!
Low budget TV style drama but watchable.By The KnightWatcher (629 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 10 Aug 2012Low budget dour but credible story about doormat Grandmother who desperate to raise funds for medical treatment for her sick grandson goes to work in the Soho sex industry. Feels like a TV drama. It is a very well acted film especially Marianne Faithfull as a middle aged frump. But I loved her back in the 1960s and prefer to remember her as she was! This is not a porno film although should be an 18 and not a 15 due to the amount of time spent portraying Maggi (Faithfull) working . Not a particularly enjoyable film but definitely watchable.
good but love story suckedBy open (376 reviews) , 05 Aug 2012Rather odd and weird but overall a rare gem. Marianne Faithful was excellnt as was the rest of the cast - the only sticky bit for me was the unlikely love story between Irina and the porn store owner
