Marianne Faithfull gives a truly outstanding performance in what must be her first starring role; her portrayal of Maggie is excellent, a lot of which is down to her body language and facial expressions - you really do feel empathy for the character; a doormat of a woman who has had a hard life and would do literally anything to raise funds for her dying grandson's medical treatment - don't really want to give much else away about the storyline, but as depressing a subject matter as it is, you really do come away from this one feeling good - plus there are some great comedic moments to make you laugh along the way... highly recommended.
Not a bad performance from Marianne Faithfull. The film is a bit simplistic but the story jogs along quite nicely.
