    A fromage to the 80's

Cheese, cheese, cheese. I actually wanted to be the hero in this movie when as a teen I watched it in the 80's. A cheerfully dumb movie, but with decent cinematography and some delightful era music courtesy Twisted Sister, King Kobra and Queen. You'll have to force your outlook back to the age of bad hair and synth-rock music, but probably worth the effort.

    Low Cal Top Gun!

In the spate of films that tried to emulate a 'Top Gun' feel, this stands out for 3 reasons. Firstly, the spectacular aerial photography, secondly the excellent Hair rock/ metal soundtrack. Thirdly. and most disturbingly, how easy it was for a bunch of teenagers to infiltrate the American M.I.C, steal a plane and rescue a pilot. Bloody marvellous!

    Iron eagle

A 1980s film about an air force officers son who wants to be a fast jet pilot but is refused entry to the airforce academy due to his grades and the fact he cant keep out of trouble.

His father is attacked in international waters and is taken prisoner by a hostile middle eastern country.

due to the fact that no rescue attempt is being made the son turns to a reserve air force colonel for help,to mount a mission to rescue his dad.

Even though this is a entertaining film its probably a little dated now but for anyone interested in fast jets its good for the fact that the f-16s are in desert colours and some of the air to air shots are very impressive.

Worth a watch but its age shows it up a little.

    Iron Eagle

You probably need to love flying, planes etc to get the best from this film. Touch of the Goonies but in the air. Adventure and laughs, a good family film, although now quite dated with fashions etc. Still worth watching.
