The screenplay for a forthcoming gangster-themed thriller by Francis Ford Coppola has been stolen from the writer-director's office in Argentina. In addition to cameras and computers, a laptop owned by the man who brought audiences The Godfather was taken by the criminals - reported to be a group of five armed burglars. George Clooney's production company has bought the rights to one of John Grisham's novels, entitled An Innocent Man: Murder and Injustice in a Small Town. Although there is no word yet on whether Clooney will direct, produce or act in the thriller, it is set to be the first adaptation of John Grisham's non-fiction work. Coppola makes long-awaited return

Francis Ford Coppola has announced that he will direct his first movie in eight years. Coppola has not been in the director's chair since 1997, when he made The Rainmaker, which starred Matt Damon, Danny DeVito, Claire Danes and Jon Voight.
