This is my type of movie which I thoroughly enjoyed. Very few 'name' actors, other than Sam Neill and Peter O'Toole (whose contribution was minimal), made this a most enjoyable film to watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

(3)Historically and psychologically inconceivable
By a customer , 12 Jun 2012I thought this film would be interesting to watch with its historical background, but it turned to be rather shallow. I stop watching after 20 minutes. Why? because the leading actress simply can't act - quite common in Far-Eastern movies. The good, the bad and the ugly are too obvious. Historically and psychologically are not convincible. The Iron Road

It tells the gripping story of the immigrant Chinese workers who were recruited to build railways across America/Canada when the great age of steam was just beginning. Sam Neill and Peter O'Toole may be the only named actors in the film but special praise must be given to the actress who plays the main role of 'Little Tiger' a feisty orphan who travels unaided to America to work on the railroad and find out what happened to her father who went there years before. Won't give away the ending but suffice to say the story keeps you gripped til the end.- Was this review helpful to you?
