By a customer , 19 May 2013Very similar to braveheart, but not quite as good. However we did enjoy it. Was a little bit slow to start and a bit predictable but worth watching. There is a lot of blood and guts to stomach though, so if your the slightest bit squimish, dont watch it!- Was this review helpful to you?

Performances to die for - wonderfully evocative of a dark, violent era
By Mindbursts (1 review) , 19 May 2013I was delighted - everything I would want into medieval tussle. Performances to die for. Brutal, human, wonderfully performed. Remarkably true to the violence of the period. Reminded me of Roman Polanski's Macbeth ... in fact make that 1970s film today with these production values and you'd have the scale and context of Ironclad. Reminded me of the likes of Gladiator too ... greater fight scenes (made me cringe). Love, sacrifice, honour, trust, belief ..- Was this review helpful to you?

Hollywood Medieval Action Cliche-fest
By SDCR (15 reviews) from Bracknell , 17 May 2013The very epitome of Hollywood Medieval Action film. Faintly ridiculous, but moderately enjoyable. Far too many plot holes to, or at least character inconsistencies to list (but I might do a few anyway) but switch your brain off and it's mildy entertaining. I cannot accept that the Baron's daughter, nor the Knight would behave in the way they did. Non-combatants seemed to be able to go toe-to-toe with experienced warriors, yet trained men-at-arms are killed within moments. Not nearly as good as the films it's riffing off of, watch the Seven Samurai, Magnificent Seven, or The Alamo if you haven't already in it's place.- Was this review helpful to you?
