More historically inaccurate than Braveheart. English history should be protected from this garbage.By a customer , 20 Dec 2013
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideSo, if your American, and don't mind serious historical inaccuracies in your movies (see Braveheart, The Enigma Code etc) and want video game style action, then this might be for you. If however you in anyway value your countries history, then avoid this trash like the plague.) 1) King John did not have an issue with The Knights Templar, in fact he gave them special status, and created New Temple in London as a Treasury where he stayed often. 2) William d'Aubigny did indeed exist, and when they gather their posse of 20 merry men they beat back thousands of King Johns Danish Mercenaries (????).......ah no, sorry - rubbish. They had at around 140 Knights and Men-at-arms defending the castle. 3) John hacks off Aubignies hands and feet.....nope. He left just fine actually and died 20 odd years later. I turned it off 20 minutes from the end. Long live England and it's history!
Danish mercenaries?By Zolt (4 reviews) , 15 Dec 2013
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideWhilst the historical background is intriguing and the story is put together more or less well, plus the play is all right, there is certainly one major flaw that made me smile during this movie. The Danish mercenaries who were paid by John of England to fight for him were played by Hungarian actors. If you don't speak Hungarian, you'll enjoy it much more than I did... I guess the Danish actors were too expensive... but even then, why not to cut the Hungarian speech and replace it with Danish if your aim is to make a historically valid contribution to cinematography. It would be about 3. 5 or 4 stars if not this flaw...

Magna CartaBy Dunnlrs (1 review) , 05 Dec 2013A really good entertaining film. Lots of action, good fight scenes, good acting and a good story line. The story is based on King John and his refusal of signing the Magna Carta - Based around actual historical facts. A film well worth seeing
