Good film, left me confusedBy a customer from Milton Keynes , 14 Jun 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]I watched this film, not remembering anything about what I had read of it previously, so I thought it was going to be your basic married man has an affair plot, but I was wrong.
An interesting film, that holds you throughout. It has a nice twist at the end but I have to say the very final scences did leave me a little confused, and the alternate ending did not help either.
Whilst I would not watch this film again, as it would not be the same now I know 'why' I would recommend it to others.

Keeps you guessingBy The KnightWatcher (629 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 30 Sep 2013Psychological thriller. Low budget movie but with excellent cast ie Sam Neil, Susan Sarandon and Emily Blunt. I had to watch this film twice to properly appreciate it. The film is worth staying with because it gets better as it progresses and keeps you guessing, and ends with a surprising twist. You think it is the standard married man has affair with young girl but it is not, and features a series of events which cause the wife to question her sanity. Average .
Clever twistBy a customer , 25 Aug 2013
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideNo Mara didn't kill the daughter. The 'daughter' you're referring to is Sophie's real daughter who Mara was friends with at the children's home. She was Kate who was killed in Kosovo and Mara is now pretending to be 'Kate' and stealing her mum. She looks like Sophie's other daughter so that you'll realise she's the real daughter rather than Mara. I think it's a brilliant film, really clever twist and I'm glad the Ginger Tom got out of the fire!
odd b movie likeBy open (370 reviews) , 18 Aug 2013Mmmmm this was an odd film it smed so B movie like but O'niell and Sarandon kept it going. Blunt was also ok but its a little odd.... reminded me of the hand that rocked the cradle
slow burnerBy molineux (1 review) , 31 Jul 2013More of a horror movie to start, lots of anti climaxes. Hard to believe, even when you know the ending.
Great film but confused by endingBy a customer , 29 Jul 2013Great film but confused by ending, ie, did Mara kill the real daughter of Sophie? Otherwise, the ending is a bit meaningless.
