No Harold and MaudeBy a customer from Winchester , 22 Apr 2009
[Highly rated reviewer]but a pleasant and likeable film nonetheless. There are few surprises as most of the plot is completely predictable, although a pleasant surprise for me is that Michael Caine can act after all! He is very credible as the curmudgeonly Clarence losing his marbles and in fact all the performances are great, more than making up for the weak script.

Good to WatchBy a customer , 14 Jun 2011Loved it from start to finish. Michael Caine was so good as was the rest of the cast. Highly recommended movie for all.

Slow film with a deceptive trailerBy DeceptiveTrailer (6 reviews) , 05 Jun 2011This film is very slow, I was waiting for something to happen throughout to be disappointed. The trailer is very deceptive, it makes the film look much better than it is.
The only upside is the acting isn't bad.
ingredients awaiting a recipeBy FCAhound (76 reviews) from London & Norfolk , 31 Mar 2011It's pretty hard to work out why this wasn't a better film than it is. The cast is great, the idea is potentially strong, the performances in the main aren't bad, (although David Morrisey's is a long way off his best - not enough brooding in the character, I rechon!). Yet somehow it lacks conviction, involvement. Perhaps it's that the internal drive necessary to draw the viewer in, to make us care enough, is absent. Which I suppose has to be a combination of shortcomings in script and direction. So while overall there's nothing really wrong with it, there's just not enough really right with it, either....
