What can I say about this odd film? An impressive cast that includes Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Tony Leung, Andy Lau and Jimmy Wang Yu are wasted in a film that does not know what to do with itself. It is a prison drama, a bit of a farce, a gangster flick, and also a film about corruption and political murder. (Wow!) Admittedly, Jackie's fight sequences stand out, but he is not in the film enough to have is name at the top of the cast. It is one of those worth a watch if you are looking for something different, but if you have certain pre-conceptions on certain actors you will be surprised.

    Sammo Hung is criminally wasted.

Ok first thing first this does not star jackie chan but he does appear in it.Second he is not a cop, sorry forgot the actors name who was. Please get these things right.

Now on to the film this one i would say is for the die hard martial arts fans story is so so but the action is good and jackie plays his part well and andy lau even better.

The story is right a cop goes under cover in a prision and samo also stars in a part.without giving to much away it was one of my top films back then along with police story. The original title by the way was The prisoner.

This is a film I was really excited about seeing, I saw a trailer of it on youtube and the trailer looked much better than the actual film turned out to be... I thought wow, this is going to be great! But then I was just so disappointed, I've seen so many Chinese films now, Bruce Lee's films, Jackie Chan's films, Chow Yung Fat's films, I loved them all. They are all action packed spectaculars, with great humour and so much emotion, that you can understand even with the language barrier, you can still understand what the characters are feeling. Even if they are not always good. But this film just fails. I thought I'd never live to see the day when I saw a bad Chinese film! But I guess any culture, any country, can make a bad film. I was greatly let down by this, I was looking forward to it so much, and it was just disappointing. I couldn't think of a time where I couldn't recommend a film, but I think I have finally found something I can't recommend. Two thumbs down! Do yourself a favour, don't watch this film. Sorry Jackie!

A prison film which didn't quite seem know where it was going. Some great actors but the story was a bit tedious.

What can I say about this odd film? An impressive all star cast that includes Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Andy Lau and Jimmy Wang Yu are wasted in a film that does not know what to do with itself. It is a prison drama, a bit of a farce, a gangster flick, a kung fu/gunplay movie and also a film about corruption and political assassination. (Wow!) Too much for one film to make any sense.

Admittedly, Jackie's fight sequences stand out, but he is not in the film enough to warrent his name at the top of the cast list. Surely a guest star role. This was the second favour to Jimmy Wang Yu for getting Jackie out of his contract to Lo Wei, and like his other favour film, "Fantasy Mission Force", Jackie is out of place. This is one of those films worth a watch if you are looking for something different, but if you have any pre-conceptions on certain actors you will be surprised. Sammo Hung plays emotion in this film, but even he is criminally wasted.
