Although in characteristically sparky form, Ginger Rogers is unable to rescue this comedy romance with its psychological overtones and other tired reminders of her rather more successful 1944 vehicle Lady in the Dark. This time, Ginger's a socialite suffering from serial desertion at the altar — she's the one who runs. Having abandoned three nearly husbands and set to try for a fourth (Ron Randell), she meets Cornel Wilde, her social inferior but, more important, her lifelong fantasy ideal made flesh, and falls headlong for him. Complications inevitably ensue.
