Most helpful review
a must see film
By Craig from Durham , 21 Jul 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Director Oliver Stone has made many brilliant films throughout his career but as far as im concerned JFK remains his masterpiece.
A compelling and gripping account of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and DA Jim Garrison's (superbly played by Kevin Costner) attempt to bring those responsible to justice will have you stuck to your seats as the film delievers shocks and surprises in spades.
Stone masterfully populates his movie with an all star cast (joe pesci, kevin bacon, michael rooker, wayne knight, jack lemon, are a few) to deal with the many characters that wave in and out of the story. If this is done wrong, it can distract the audiences from the main story but not here.
Stone also gives it a documentary feel by using grainy home videos that make up many of the montages in the film.
The only disappoint comes at the end. Although I won't spoil it for those who havent seen it, JFK is still a must see film.
And there are no extras. Not even a trailer. You can expect a special edition anytime soon in the near future.- Was this review helpful to you?

(43)Melodramatic nonsense, bad history
By a customer from UK , 29 May 2010Melodramatic nonsense, doesn't even work as fiction. If you've seen it, I recommend reading 'Case Closed' by Gerald Posner as an antidote- Was this review helpful to you?
