I have a giant (sorry) load of love for this movie!By missmartin (21 reviews) , 15 Apr 2013
[Highly rated reviewer]I have a giant (sorry) load of love for this movie! I was expecting yet another attempt at a re-make of a fairytale which just ends up being lame and rather boring - but this was nothing like that. It had a LOTR/Hobbit feel to it, meaning it wasn't too kiddish. It had wit, adventure, action, fantasy and more. The cast was amazing and perfect, the visual effects brilliant, and the overall take on the classic tale was well done, well paced and kept me engaged right until the very end. I would definitely recommend you see this movie.

Good family film.By Tobyornottoby (21 reviews) , 09 Dec 2013Originally saw this at the cinema and loved it. Now watched again on dvd. Great effects, lots of action. Only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that Jack is a bit wimpy. He's not convincing and as mentioned elsewhere, he doesn't do much giant slaying!
Light Science fantasyBy a customer , 08 Dec 2013Good watch , decent addition to the particular genre. The aspiring young hero will adore it as it caresses every preconception of the world as they know it, and would have it be. Exceptional special effects too which helps. The cast and the script is well in excess of the confines of the movie, and there is a better movie doing its best to stay hidden behind this sweet offering
Good film for all the familyBy a customer , 08 Dec 2013I would say the film was enjoyable to watch for most of the family. Story was ok and the effects were not to bad at least worth a look.
Thoroughly enjoyable for the whole familyBy Kelly76 (102 reviews) from Crowthorne , 04 Dec 2013The whole family loved this, nice easy story to watch & great CGI, you'll not be dissapointed! Our kids are 6 and 8 and they loved every moment of the film... looks like we'll be adding it to the Xmas wishlist :)
Sit back and enjoy a bit of funBy Pepperman (4 reviews) , 03 Dec 2013Enjoyable fairytale story for everyone. Acting not strong but who cares, great filming and effects and modern slant to the story.
