JACKASS: THE MOVIE may go down in history as the most irresponsible, outrageous footage ever to be released by a major Hollywood studio. Based on the MTV show of the same name, creators and coproducers Jeff Tremaine, Johnny Knoxville, and Spike Jonze stretch their surprisingly successful concept into a feature-length film. .. Johnny Knoxville and his daredevil buddies take their eye-watering antics to new extremes in this darkly funny feature-length version of the cult TV series. Produced by Being John Malkovich director Spike Jonze, it builds on the group's MTV-spawned format, in which the modern-day clowns repeatedly risk life and limb carrying out absurd, and often dangerous, stunts and pranks. From master of outrage Steve-O snorting wasabi — a kind of Japanese horseradish — to Men in Black II star Knoxville smashing himself up in a golf buggy, there's apparently nothing these adrenalin junkies won't do for public entertainment. It's far from subtle and definitely an acquired taste, but fans of the show won't be disappointed. The movie doesn't manage to maintain its crazy momentum for its entirety, and there are segments, particularly those involving bodily fluids, that really fall flat. Overall, however, this is spirited adults-only viewing — just don't expect elderly relatives to approve.

    Sick

Sick in a good way.. Great fun, just like the TV programme with a bigger budget and a bigger shopping trolly. I always feel that I shouldn't like it but I do!

    Shouldn't be funny, but IS

I'd never seen the tv show before I watched this, but might have to start watching now. This film is HILARIOUS, although it pains me slightly to say it - if you laughed at cartoon kids singing 'uncle f***er' in South Park, then you'll know what I mean. It's so prurient, so juvenile, but so utterly infectious! It's at heart nothing more than a compendium of clips, based around stupid/dangerous/disgusting stunts which a team of seemingly indestructable young men perform and film with worryingly evident glee. Headed by Johnny Knoxville, a kind of dark-haired, satanic version of Brad Pitt, they proceed to dive headfirst down bowling alleys on skateboards, crash golf carts in adventure playgrounds, test out riot-control weapons on themselves, snort wasabi... the list goes on and on. It's definitely not for everyone, and there is some genuinely disgusting footage which is extremely distasteful, but if the sound of it doesn't put you off you'll probably enjoy this as much as I did.

I hate to admit it but it's pretty good!

I only ordered this for the enjoyment of my male flatmates, but I have to admit (somewhat begrudgingly) that it's the most I have laughed in quite some time. The guys certainly live up to their title and how they aren't all hospitalized by the end of it is mystery. Definitely worth a watch.

If you liked the TV show you'll love this - all your favourites going that bit further than on the TV. Some items were a bit crude - but overall the film is a scream.

difficult to know where they'll go from here for shock value.

Jackass - More of the same ....

"Jackass. The movie". Well in reality it's just an extended episode of the MTV hit series but what you have to ask youself is....

Is "The" a good thing (yes, if you like Jackass)

    or

Is "The" a bad thing (no, if you don't)

The stunts are no bigger or no funnier however, I couldn't stop laughing all the way through. I even hunted through the entire DVD looking for extras and removed bits. To my relief there were plenty. In fact, they could make a 'directors cut' with the extra 20 mins of footage you can find.

All in all, an excellent -extended version- of Jackass. I loved it, my wife thinks I'm sad. Although my wife's opinion of me isn't just based on my taste in DVDs.

So, if you are sitting on the fence about whether to watch this movie, ask yourself, would you laugh at sick, stupid, childish and dangerous behaviour? If the answer is yes, sit back with a cold beer and prepare to laugh so hard that it comes out of your nose.

we only watched this dvd for 15 minutes and turned it off. I do not remember ordering this, but we do not think it was worth watching any further. we do nt appear to be getting films off our list that are high priority and if this does not improve we will not be continuing with membership one our free trail period is over

    Blood, gore and polar bears

This is a truly excellent movie... if you like that sort of thing.

Jackass "the movie" is really a longer episode of the TV show with a smattering of money thrown at it. For all this, it is a brilliant movie with some inspired new material along with the old standards that could make you wretch.

Some bits slow the pace, but as the editing is brake neck, this is bound to happen. Some bits are really disgusting, so not for grandma or little johnny round the fire.

I ended up rolling about on the floor with laughter and felt like watching it again for it.

The extras are interesting and numerous.

Rent it... just dont do it at home, folks.

    Funnier than ever...

Steve-O, Wee Man, party Boy and all the usual crowd come together in this culmination of wacky antics that make you go through the whole range of emotions - moans, groans, laughs and nausea!!

I was dubious about this film, wondering if the series could really adapt to the rigours of a major movie and keep the watcher entertained and gripped to their seats for the whole hog.

    They managed this with perfection.

I never took my eyes of the screen - even through the most harrowing of endeavours of this motley crew. And with over an hour of extras, there is more than enough mayhem to satisfy even the craziest of individuals.

Roll on JackAss - the sequel!!!

    Heerreeee's JOHNNY!

    Welcome to Jackass!

I've been trying to see this film since it came out but never really got around to it. I watched it after a night on the town... so was slightly hungover/ratted at the time... so that probably made it even funnier!

If there is one film / clip-show / stunt display / comedy that you see this year... make it this.

I'm desperate to try the firework thing on my sister! BWAHAHAA

    A+... very good.
