Heathers-style black comedy about a trio of high school It girls, whose birthday prank on their best friend goes horribly wrong. Writer/director Darren Stein has a flair for striking cartoon visuals, but the plot soon runs out and the film's tone is excessively cold and cruel. What's more, the generic indie rock soundtrack and pop culture in-jokes that seemed fresh five years ago, are remarkably stale now. Its strongest asset is the bright young cast, headed by Rose McGowan's malicious super-bitch and Judy Evans Greer's convincing transformation from mousy nerd to sexy blonde bombshell.
jawbreaker is a mixture of teen chick flick, humour and a darker edge to it,
the storyline is good but the acting is a bit rough around the edges,
the ending was terrible i really wish they were a bit more original with that
this film is good to watch but easily forgot

Oliver Stone, director of current box office hit World Trade Center, is reportedly considering a story about the invasion of Afghanistan for his next project. Jawbreaker will be partly based on CIA commander Gary Bernsten's memoirs of invading Afghanistan and is currently being scripted by Cyrus Nowrasteh, who penned television mini series The Path to 9/11.
