Four years on from the horrible shark attacks which plagued Amity Island, Police Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) is still uneasy about the prospect of another shark visiting the bay. So when the film developed from the camera of a missing diver shows what looks like a shark fin, he begins to get very worried indeed. However, Mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) again plays down the incident, and when Brody raises a panicked false alarm from his observation tower on the beach, the mayor even goes as far as firing him. It is then that the bloodbath really begins.

This film bores me out of my wits

and the stupid moments like the woman soaking herself with petrol before trying to light the shark on fire don't help at all.

OK sequel

Certainly a better sequel than other attempts. Not as good as the orignal but there are scenes where you're yelling 'get out of the water!'.

Worthy Sequel

The follow up to Jaws (1975) really does hold its own.

Unfortunatly, Spielberg declined to direct the sequel, and it does tell but not enough to distract from the overall quality of the film.

The shark is shown much more in this film, which does take away some tension and exposes how naff it actually looked, especially during one particular scene.

Neverthless this is a good follow up and if you liked the first one you'll like this too.

I love this movie. I have watched it a million times and still jump even though I know whats coming.
