'Simply Spiffing old boy'

What can you say about Jeeves and Wooster except 'Simply Spiffing old boy'.
Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry have captured the essence of the characters from P.G. Wodehouse stories magnificently.
Its all here, grown men with the mentality of boys, bread roll fights at the mens club, knocking off policemens helmets and striding around in plus fours crying 'What Ho'.
Full of formidable aunts and relatives that are deftly handled, subdued, and conned by the inimitable Jeeves.
It's an absolute joy to watch. I can't think of anyone more suited than Hugh Laurie to play Bertie Wooster. If you want a bit of fun television, then this is for you.- Was this review helpful to you?

(12)Simply priceless
By Raki11 (17 reviews) , 01 May 2013Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry are perfect in this 'spiffing' rendition of P. G. Wodehouse's novels. Wooster and his layabout friends are the most hilarious bunch of twits ever, and I just can't get over some of the names, like Barmy Fotheringay-Phipps and Gussie Fink-Nottle. The way Jeeves talks is enough to have one rolling on the floor laughing. British humour at its very best!- Was this review helpful to you?

P.G.Wodehouse
By Stanvac (1 review) from ELGIN , 30 Jun 2008I agree with all of the reports on Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry being the best ever Jeeve and Woosters .But no one mentions the innumerable ,absolutely drop dead, gorgeous
scatty ,feminine, headstrong, heartbreakingly beautiful young ladies who cause, and rightly
so,such mayhem. God Bless them- Was this review helpful to you?

Jeeves And Wooster- The Second series.
By stever1953 (4 reviews) from Redruth , 29 Jun 2008P.G. Wodehouse never dates, And Fry and Laurie are superb as the upper class twit and his brilliant but devious valet.- Was this review helpful to you?

MARVELLOUS
By Richard Galloway from Selby, North Yorkshire , 14 May 2007How Woodehouse thought up such great names as Finknockle, Hildebrand Glossop and of course Lord Spode.
Such characters remain with you always.- Was this review helpful to you?

BYGONE ERA
By Richard Galloway from Selby, North Yorkshire , 14 May 2007The innocence, and child like behaviour of Bertie, brings tears to the eye, as does the domineering Aunts.- Was this review helpful to you?
