Just as Ronaldo is sold for 80 million pounds to Real Madrid, Jerry Maguire in turn highlights the greed of the sports agents worldBy Daniel Pollard from Manchester, England , 01 Jul 2009
[Highly rated reviewer]Delightful film from Cameron Crowe about one lone sports agents attempt to fight the system he helped created. The film in turn highlights the excesses of the 90s and shallowness of the corporate world. The sports agent is played by Tom Cruise, who tries to put something back and change things, be less corporate and more humanistic towards his clients. Cruise gives one of his best performances, up there with his role in Magnolia, Renee Zellweger is actually watchable, delivering the classic you had me at hello and theres a great script full of quotable lines, show me the money and my favourite, roll with the punches, tomorrows another day. Even better than Cruise and Zellweger, is Cuba Gooding Jr, playing the minor American football player with a huge chip on his shoulder. The talks between the Cruise and his solitary client are worth the entry fee alone, you telling me to dance?, shouts Gooding Jr in his Oscar winning role. On the other hand, the film gets a little bit sentimental in one or two places, but in the summer when Transformers 2 is set to make billions at the UK box office, its nice to reminisce to a time when Hollywood was making quality dramas about real people, with real emotions, all in an immensely watchable fashion.

Magnificent!!By Currantbun from Carlisle , 22 Jan 2007What a film -what a film!!!! Perfect for watching with a lady-friend, even if you've both seen it. Mr Cruise is on top form and it's both Cuba Gooding Jnr's and Renee Zallewaggas' best films. It's such a heart warming film - you'd have to be a right cold-hearted get not to sniffle at the end. And that kid!!! I wanna buy him(if you're listening Tesco!!) Superb!!!
Jerry Maguire - Watch It!!By a customer from Tyrone, N. Ireland , 10 Dec 2006Excellent Movie - highly recommended!!
Mediocre for me, but entertaining for most...By a customer from Reading, UK , 02 Jul 2006I can't say that I was that impressed with this film, and only hired it because it was one of those popular films I hadn't seen at the time it came out.
It's a standard type, American drama film with a bit of cheesey love story for good measure. Renee Zellweger was pretty crappy in this film, but I guess there should be some leeway as it may have been one of her first main films.
The child in this film is annoying and not even what I would class as the usual Hollywood Child actor (you know - so cute you would happily adopt).
Cuba Gooding Jr was probably the most entertaining, although it wasn't a taxing role.
Watch it if you wish, but don't be surprised if you end up feeling slightly dissapointed.
Very EntertainingBy Pacino247 (200 reviews) from Newbury Park, England , 05 May 2006I thought that this movie would be a bit soppy and that it was just a chick flick but it turned out to be quite enjoyable and very funny in places. Cuba Gooding Jr. played an excellent cameo roll and although it had very soppy bits in places, it turnd out to be quite a classic movie.
Great MovieBy Pacino247 (200 reviews) from Newbury Park, England , 05 May 2006This maybe a bit soppy for us men but I found this movie pretty entertaining. Cuba Gooding Jr. puts in a good cameo roll and the love story doesn't get to chick flickish. Overall very entertaining and it deserved all the credit that it got.
