Religeon is the Root of all Evil !!!
By JayKay (27 reviews) from Newry, Northern Ireland , 25 Nov 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
This is a great film if youre even slightly interested in Religion
This film follows children in there daily lives. All the children are evangelical Christians and have been brought up with the bible at hand.
Personally this film made me physically sick and of course even stronger in my beliefs of atheism.
Although it was shocking at how parents allow there children to live I found it very interesting.
If anyone believes in an invisible man then you should consider watching this and even if you are an atheist then this is a still an interesting video.
Although it did make me, at times, sick to my stomach i have watched it several times and i do like it- Was this review helpful to you?

(42)Jesus, who are you?
By Matrisse (38 reviews) from London , 22 Jan 2012A really well made documentary about Evangelical Christian children who attend 'Jesus Camp' during their summer holidays. I felt sorry for the kids as it reminded me of being sent to a Gaelic speaking camp for 3 weeks when I was 11 - not what I wanted to be doing! But these Christian kids, not only did they love it, they got into it like hands in gloves. They absolutely believed what they were being told by the adults and immersed themselves in the emotional rollercoaster of the stadium. Shocking and worrying, this film spends enough time in Missouri and North Dakota to gain a rounded view of the kids and the adults in their lives. An interesting documentary, whether you are religious or not.- Was this review helpful to you?

Mock Shock
By IrishTaiwan (4 reviews) from London , 26 Jul 2011It's okay for filling time.
It is what you expect it will be, an assorted collection of nut jobs who - with their lack of grasp of reality - seek to pass their pathology onto their children.
Militant 'New Atheist' types will enjoy the blood boiling sensation and have their prejudices about all religious understandings of the world confirmed. They will love it. And will post mock angry reviews about how 'all religion is child abuse'.
Those is who engage religion in a more open and creative way will be distressed, but not surprised. Abuse of power, deepest foolishness, group nuttiness and evil can manifest in every sphere of life religion included.
Wasn't it Hannah Arendt who coined the phrase 'the banality of evil'?
By all means watch if you have a little time to kill, but don't expect anything sophisticated in terms of treating any of the issues raised.- Was this review helpful to you?

Predictable and awful
By a customer , 17 Jun 2011Awful film didn't tell anything that I didn't already know ie there are religous fanatics that brainwash their children. After first 10 minutes you get the gist .Very boring and tedious couldn't watch till the end just had to fast forward as it was so slow.- Was this review helpful to you?

Made my blood boil
By a customer , 10 Jun 2011Totally blown away by the fact that children can be abused in this way - all in the name of religion. Shocking abuse of power. The troubling thing is that this is not only happening in America but in Britain too. Evangelists are not religious but religious and racist bigots. And how they can dismiss evalution is beyond me.
Not a particulary good film to watch for entertainment value but I would not be allowing any child of mine to ever be involved with the kids summer clubs that this so called religion entice our children to join throughout the summer school holidays.- Was this review helpful to you?

Messed Up!
By Mosco (201 reviews) from London , 03 May 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
I was happy with the point this film was making, in that kids are being pretty much brainwashed and forced into Jesus but watching it was rather uncomfortable. Normal kids screaming madly to Jesus like the kid on The Exorcist, mad chanting in a trance like state, parents who seemed wired to the moon, man it's not good to see.- Was this review helpful to you?
