At the time of writing this DVD has 1 Star!!! How is that possible? Whoever has given this a low rating is obviously not a fan but someone who has rented this and found that they didn't like the music. To give a music DVD a low rating because you don't like the music is daft.
The rating should be based on the DVD quality or the performance, which incidently isn't his best, but by no means deserves a 1 Star.- Was this review helpful to you?

(3)Hendrix is tired out, but it is still amazing
By eddiebaby (4 reviews) from Hull , 21 Oct 2009Not the greatest Hendrix gig, he was very tired and world weary by this point in his life, and it shows in this, at times, lack lustre performance. However, remember this is Hendrix, a true musical genius (and i use that word very rarely). Some of the blues solos particularly in Red House are truly exceptional. If you are a Hendrix fan you will not be disappointed, if you are new to Hendrix i would recommend Monterey '67 dvd to start with.- Was this review helpful to you?

This is Hendrix for goodness sake!!
By bhaltos (2 reviews) from Nottingham , 28 Apr 2008Yes 1 star is sacreligious!!! This a momentous performance from an historical point of view and if you remotely like Hendrix its a 'must-see'. Its well shot for the standards of the time i.e. you get to see more than Jimi's head and can see him playing the guitar (a few tracks even offer multi-view angles). Its not a top notch performance from Jimi - he is plagued with sound problems but that said - its Jimi Hendrix... and by anyone elses standards that means its fantastic! Theres some brilliant soloing and playing cutting through the frustration. I have all the Hendrix concerts on DVD and I keep coming back to this one (and Woodstock) because of his fantastic improvisations. Watch Hendrix split his pants open during Foxey Lady! Superb documentary also and well put together DVD.- Was this review helpful to you?
