(67)Great film
By Anita3 (46 reviews) , 15 May 2013I enjoyed this film as I loved the costumes and big film sets. The princess was beautiful and the songs were meaningful. I particularly liked the big dance sequences - gorgeous colours and choreography on a huge scale. On the negative side, the film was quite long and the story a bit predictable. Recommended.- Was this review helpful to you?

The best of romances.
By Stephenschoice (1 review) , 18 Aug 2012I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It is a romantic and epic film. The cinematography is just stunning. The music is very enjoyable also. My only regret is that I didn't see it at the cinema.
There is political intrigue, lavish settings and at the centre of it all is a beautiful, pure romance.
I will rent this film again sometime this year just to refresh the wonderful feeling it gave me. The English subtitles were placed well and didn't distract from the enjoyment of the film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Engaging and Interesting
By DaSaint (1 review) , 17 Apr 2012Nice film, you do not really see a lot of period movies in the bollywood. The pair of Ash and Hrithik works very well but still the same Hrithink as ever, the way he acts not really changes from film to film...not like Salman, Amir or Shahrukh. Hrithink looks almost the same in all his movies.
The film was long but the narration really helped here and the screenplay is perfect as well. Though the pure Hindi was too much the english subtitles really did help.
The locations the movie was shot at are just awesome, more action could had been put in considering the length of the movie. Overall a good engaging story.- Was this review helpful to you?

An epic by any standards.
By Hogbaggy (5 reviews) , 26 Mar 2012An epic by any standards, as good as anything I've seen Hollywood do. Fabulous costumes and music, good acting from the two leads. Strong references to Akbar's rule which introduced religeous tolerance between Hindu and Muslim. The film had some serious messages, but worked also as great entertainment. One of the best films I've seen for a long time.- Was this review helpful to you?
