Words cannot describe how wonderfull this release is, I had to nip out and buy a copy once I had rented this.

This film shows what a truly nice guy Joe was and how much he loved his music and other peoples music. The film shows what a humble person Joe really was, selling tickets in the street when he has seen the heady days of the clash, turning up at radio stations unanounced to plug his tour, and yet not really wanting to push who he was and where he has been. You get a real insight into who Joe was.........I loved it, will watch it again and again...........God bless you Joe-you deserve to still be on this planet, making this music for all to enjoy.

I can only reiterate what has already been said, this DVD is excellent. Joe Strummer was a humble and great musician and lot of people could learn from his way of thinking. It is the music and people who listen to it that matter, not the industries money making wheel. The main documentary is just over an hour long and has a fine balance between live and behind the scenes footage, making it enjoyable for anyone. This along with some excellent extras make this a highly recommended DVD. I own all the Clash albums but had never bought any of Strummer's solo efforts, since watching this DVD I have ordered all 3 of his main albums before his sad untimely demise.

BEWARE - The rating is not for the movie - it is for tesco's ineptitude. I would prefer ZERO stars.

Upon receiving this movie I was perplexed to find that it was in the american region 1 NTSC format and not region 2 PAL.

Upon quizzing tesco on how it was possible to have a region 1 dvd in their library, let alone actually sending it out, I received the indian call centre customer service response :-

'hhhmmmm the answer that the customer actually wants is not on the list of set questions/answers in front of me. I know, I will irritate him hugely by sending a stock response that has nothing whatsoever to do with his question'.

    Three times.

    And not bat an eyelid.

    Appalling.

For any fan of the late 1970's and early 1980's Punk Rock music the name Joe Strummer is legendary .This film follows the great(late)Joe Strummer and his new band The Mescaleros trying to break into the music scene , fifteen years after he quit the second line up of The Clash .

Joe's new band's music was a very different sound to The Clash but had similar Punk Rock ethics with regards to do it yourself and keep going no matter what others think . I enjoyed this film eventhough i am not a true fan of The Mescaleros ; although i have now endevered to obtain some of their recordings .An enjoyable documentary to a great musician and his band . May he rest in peace and his music live for ever Amen .

a must get dvd for clash/ joe fans.

superb live footage of joe singing his new stuff, old clash classics but best of all loads of reggae covers.

better than viva joe strummer . the extras are actually better than the film. ..superb.
