I loved friends, and joeys character. But if you are expecting Friends dont! Its Joey.
This is a great spin off, joey maintains his lovable self. The new cast have to build their characters and as time goes on they achieve this. Even the dorky nephew.
Joey starts off fresh new series new town new characters. So when you view this view it with all this in mind and you will love it. Very few spin off series work, but for me this one does.
Before I start, lets get this out of the way, Joey is not as good as Friends.
But it is definitely worth renting. Occasional glimpses of 'Joey Genius' is still present, my favourite episode being the lasagne taste test episode. All of the new characters are sound (with the possible exception of Bobbie, joeys agent, whom you will either love or hate, I was the latter!), each providing interesting storylines and scenarios. But it is Matt LeBlanc who holds it all together with his comic timing and the ability to do something which is quite difficult...be dumb on purpose!
