Worth watching
By a customer , 05 Jul 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
I watched this in 3D on my computer and I loved it.
I thought that it would be crammed with C. G. I. effects, it was and they were brilliant, but in no way did they overshadow the film. I was involved with the characters from the beginning and found it moving and exciting.
I would recommend this movie and am looking forward to seeing it again on the big screen if possible.
I would love to have tea with the Princess in another life. Ha!- Was this review helpful to you?

(15)Not for me
By a customer , 17 May 2013Could not make sense of this film. To be honest this is not my type of film so don't be put off by this rating. I find it hard to believe this was a Disney film- Was this review helpful to you?

Terrific Sci-fi and 3D
By Chrisaljack (307 reviews) from Hellingly , 14 May 2013Why this film was not a commercial success can only be attributed to the way it was panned by the Press or the title (!). Why on earth (excuse the pun) did they change the title of Edgar Rice Burrough's book Princess of Mars to John Carter? John Carter means absolutely nothing; this is a sci-fi story about Mars... This is every bit as good as far more successful blockbusters and has some great special effects. The movies never slows and keeps the action on the boil. The Princess in question is pretty gorgeous too!!! To add the cherry on top, the 3D effects are really good and add positively to the visual impact.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not worth watching, not even to try out your new 3D TV
By a customer , 27 Mar 2013This movie is complete rubbish and not even the slightest bit entertaining. I only gave it a go as it was a 3D from Disney and supposedly has some form of following from the original story. It is rubbish though. the lead actors fake-husky voice gets irritating after 2 minutes.. he sounds like my 5 year old doing a dirty harry impersonation. The story is disjointed and not even exciting. The special effects don't even do much and it's an attempt at lord of the rings style battle scenes fall well short of the mark.
All in all, I'll never get those precious 2 hours and 7 minutes back... damn you Walt Disney, damn you...- Was this review helpful to you?

inoffensive saturday morning fun
By FatterDan (1 review) , 22 Mar 2013Well cast, decent effects, generally ok without ever being thought provoking or causing offence. Wouldnt revisit. Probably 20 minutes too long- Was this review helpful to you?

By LucaMaximus (5 reviews) from Derbyshire, UK , 21 Feb 2013Great 3D effects but such a poor film, sorry I'm getting too old for this at 38! Maybe if I was still 14 I'd of thought it was great.- Was this review helpful to you?
