[Highly rated reviewer]I watched this in 3D on my computer and I loved it.
I thought that it would be crammed with C. G. I. effects, it was and they were brilliant, but in no way did they overshadow the film. I was involved with the characters from the beginning and found it moving and exciting.
I would recommend this movie and am looking forward to seeing it again on the big screen if possible.
I would love to have tea with the Princess in another life. Ha!

Not a bad film, watch it with your family!By WJD (6 reviews) , 01 Dec 2013Not a bad film, i can't understand why people watch the film then whinge about it. It's about an American Civil War Cavalry Officer who is transported to Mars, meets some weird Martians, zooms around in strange flying machines and falls in love with a tidy Martian princess who dresses in some sexy outfits. This isn't Booker Prize territory and doesn't even try to be, it's quite entertaining tosh, the 3D is good, it looks good and it keeps you awake. Reading the preview should tell you that it won't be profound or thought provoking, don't complain because it isn't.
almost entirely dull. worst use of 3D.By a customer , 08 Oct 2013DONT bother with the 3D version- it was meant to be filmed in 3D, there is little evidence of this. Now the film-Dull, 1D story line, lack lustre CGI, No wonder it was a flop, you would be embarrassed to recommend this to a friend.
Don't get CarterBy a customer , 17 Aug 2013Cannot believe Disney was behind this film. It is a mash of films past without a decent storyline - toooo predictable. Dialogue was terrible and I actually preferred it when there were subtitles at the beginning. Sooo dull its unbelievable.
Not for meBy a customer , 17 May 2013Could not make sense of this film. To be honest this is not my type of film so don't be put off by this rating. I find it hard to believe this was a Disney film
Terrific Sci-fi and 3DBy Chrisaljack (413 reviews) from Hellingly , 14 May 2013Why this film was not a commercial success can only be attributed to the way it was panned by the Press or the title (!). Why on earth (excuse the pun) did they change the title of Edgar Rice Burrough's book Princess of Mars to John Carter? John Carter means absolutely nothing; this is a sci-fi story about Mars... This is every bit as good as far more successful blockbusters and has some great special effects. The movies never slows and keeps the action on the boil. The Princess in question is pretty gorgeous too!!! To add the cherry on top, the 3D effects are really good and add positively to the visual impact.
