Employing a format similar to the one used in the Anthology series, this solidly crafted documentary traces the career of John Lennon before and after the Beatles. In addition to TV and archive footage, the film includes home-movie material from the 1970s that is far more arresting than the familiar scenes of the Fab Four in their Beatlemania heyday. Soundbites from interviews given by Lennon from the early 1960s onwards have been deftly shaped into an informative narrative. Few new facts emerge, but it is still a must for fans.
this film shows john as much more than an ex-beatle and media seeker as some critics would have you believe.he is a very much more interesting and multi-layered man.sadly no musician today comes close to his talent.the sadest part of all is that he was starting to compose songs again up until his murder,we will never see his like again, watch it and weep.
interesting footage of john, worth a look.
An excelleny collection of home videos by the great man - a rare insight into both his private life & also it`s a great way to see the maestro in action both rehearsing with friends and recording in the studio during the making of the Imagine Album
Well this an absolute must for any Lennon/Beatles fan, it is very well put together, and is a true insite to the man behind the music.
The only problem I found with this "2 disk set" is that disk 2 is very short, and there doesn't seem to be any extra's that isn't really of any interest, well at least to me anyway,
But there is a "Trivia" Section that is very good and you must see !

The extras dvd includes, acoustic performance of Imagine at a concert, and footage of John and Yoko buying and installing a summer house. The footage of the summerhouse being installed reveals John being 'ordinary'. The footage in some ways is more revealing than many interviews. This is because it shows Lennon outside the environment he's was normally filmed. He's not surrounded by people adoring or worshipping him. He's just a guy having a shed delivered to his home. It is also typically 1970's England in its atmosphere.
Fascinating biography with lots of musical interludes.
I liked Imagine alot, but the 2nd DVD named the same but was the Special Features was a rip off rental.....
The complete story of the recording and writing of the Imagine album, which includes beatles memories and a whole lot of private footage that you would not have seen even on the beatles anthology. Most of it is being home video.
Also includes a rare acoustic version of the title...Imagine.Well worth watching which will delight Lennon fans.Get it !!!
