John Wilson is one of my favorite fishing presenters. The footage is always professional and John always seems to be enjoying himself, which is encouraging. This particular DVD starts with him on a private lake catching many very large bream. It verges on the self-congratulation, and his good fortune, in part, could be put down to the fact that it is a private lake which isn't fished often. Enjoyable viewing all the same.

I like most of John Wilsons fishing series but i really like this one as John has two outstanding sessions.

In the first he lands his biggest Bream and catches the most big Bream he's ever had with the average fish in double figures!

In the second he lands two 20+ river carp which put up a heck of a scrap.

Well worth the watch. A+

This is one of the best John Wilson 'Go Fishing' DVD's. Filmed in September 1994 we see Wilson fishing a secret Norfolk lake. It's a coarse anglers dream - early morning mist swirls around the lake as Wilson casts into the lake from his boat. As soon as his bait settles the action starts and our intrepid angler starts to catch massive bream to about 13 1/2 pound and about a foot deep - real huge bronze slabs. As he says this is exceptional fishing - even for Wilson - and especially for the rest of us! But it makes great viewing - we can only dream. There is about the right mix of technical information so we know what he's doing (fishing a slider in 13 foot of water from a boat). The bream are more than enough but watch out for the massive carp at the end which he catches from the Test in Hampshire on bread flake!
