It's tough believing that Brat Pack geekmeister Anthony Michael Hall can even kick a ball, let alone be America's hottest football prospect in this sub-standard teen comedy posing as a cautionary tale. Hall just can't quite decide whether to take up numerous lucrative offers from talent scouts or drop the game to attend college with his sweetheart. It's not hard to guess what happens. Disappointing directorial debut for Flashdance editor Bud Smith who's guilty of treating the ethics of signing gifted high-school athletes as if it were merely another instalment of Porky's. Look out for Robert Downey Jr, Jennifer Tilly and Uma Thurman in pre-star roles.
An excelent feel good comedy from the famous John Hughes.
I found this film to be a good light-hearted funny movie. It is a typical 80s comedy which you shouldn't take too seriously.
