Worth the Cash
By David Hamer from Blackburn, Lancs , 21 Sep 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
IT should be clear from the start that this film only covers a brief period in the Johnny Cash saga, around 2 years. However, it is probably his most productive and insirational period.
Johnny & June are followed on the road, giving rare glimpses into their private life, and talking at length to the camera and thus viewer one on one. Some private footage from the tour bus and homes are included. JC talks about his life as a poor youngster on the cotton farm, to his meteroic rise to fame.
Included are some very good FULL performances of classic Cash tracks. Featured are a show at a prison (not Folsom), and a show for some true American Indians. The highlight for me is rare footage of a track Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan recorded together, indluding the post production mixing and some chatter.
Dont expect his life story, or even decent picture quality as most of this footage is home movie style. But if you like Johnny Cash, you will suerly appreciate the music within.- Was this review helpful to you?

(7)Johnny Cash
By a customer , 01 May 2012I am a Johnny Cash fan, It has most of his best songs on it even if some of the sound could be better, and some of the video is not of best quality. It gives an insight of the man. Overall I enjoyed and it is still very good and well worth a watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Very Poor
By a customer from Scotland , 05 Apr 2006Very disappointed with this DVD. Being a long-time Johnny Cash fan I was really looking forward to seeing this. The production was of the poorest quality I have ever come across- Was this review helpful to you?

Interesting for Johnny Cash fans
By a customer from London, England , 27 Mar 2006I agree with other reviewers in that this is an interesting section Of JC's life, but that the quality is extremely poor. The songs, however, are always good. They also don't actually tell you what he's doing, where he is, or who any of the peripheral people are, which is frustrating!- Was this review helpful to you?

Poor production quality
By Damienbove (7 reviews) from Bury , 15 Nov 2004This DVD is blighted by poor production qulaity, the music recordings are excellent, but much of the voice is so poor you realy have to listen hard to catch what is being said, and this makes it un-watchable. You need subtitles on with this one. Shame too- Was this review helpful to you?
