loser bum johnny suede is a failing musician until a pair of black suede shoes fall onto a phone box while he is making a call, the rest of the film follows him through a number of weird and unpredictable events. the foremost the relationship between him and the charmingly sweet catherine keener.on the way nearly being put off by the vulgar, insane, albino rock star 'freak storm'played with an uncertain ease by the always charismatic nick cave.great film with great performances and a soundtrack straight out of a 60's cafe bar.if u enjoy this film i recommend 'living in oblivioon' by the same director it's rumoured to be about his experiances on the set of 'johnny suede', with chad palamino's character in particular supposedly a caracature of brad pitts behaviour on the set of the film. enjoy !
An unusual film, definitely not for everyone. Worth seeing just for Nick Cave with a massive blond wig!
See if you can spot Samuel L Jackson's cameo too.
Quite entertaining - give it a try!
