Joni is one of the true greats of popular music. Her skill with words and unique musical style is unsuppassed.
She also has a talent for finding musicians that can complement and enhance her performances.
This DVD was enjoyable and moving. She is probably my favourite artist and sadly does not enjoy the esteem she so richly deserves.
I only wish that more of her work was available on DVD.
Rent this, sit back and enjoy a genius at work. The paintings are an added treat.
As a chance to see Joni perform live within the last 10 years, this is great. For my taste songs-wise, there are only a handful of really great tunes performed here - but they're worth it (Hejira/Night Ride Home...).
She's a consummate performer, a pleasure to watch - and the band are superb - great players with plenty of sensitivity and spirit.
If you know Joni well (particularly material 1976 onwards) then you'll enjoy this concert. Whether you'll chose to but it or not......?
(Scores a 5, but would be 6 if the set-list was different.)
