Plundering Victorian childerens classics...
By RichPickings (167 reviews) from 'kin Bruges , 09 Jul 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
You should know exactly what you are getting, by looking at the front cover of this, so don't expect anything else. The Rock and Mr Caine are heartwarming at times and the images and plot progress briskly, so its undemanding sillyness, works well.
Some of its ingredients hit the bullseye educationaly, with demonstrations of code breaking and the value of reading being clearly and interestingly expressed. Some of its ideas have a beautiful, child friendly logic and even Dwayne's explaination of a sinking island was strangely convincing.
Reasonably spectacular, family fun. Not bad.- Was this review helpful to you?

A good family romp
By jmbrighton (3 reviews) , 09 Feb 2013This is a family film and therefore a little limited. However, that said it isn't a bad romp and not overly long. Some of the storyline is daft and not entirely plausable but that wont bother the youngsters too much. The 3D effects are actually quite good, although another review here suggested the 3D effects were poor, there must have been something wrong with their TV or glasses as the effects are quite good as I mentioned.- Was this review helpful to you?

Terrible Film
By a customer , 05 Dec 2012Really not a good film and the main part of it makes no sense. I was pretty happy when the disc stopped working as it saved me wasting any more time on it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Fairly electrifying
By TedTheBear (2 reviews) , 15 Nov 2012Enjoyable adventure romp with some nice 3D effects and comedic moments courtesy of Dwayne Johnson.
Pay no attention to the review by 'robknocker', the guy clearly has a chip on his shoulder concerning films starring Mr. Johnson. He claims he only watched 40 mins of the film but mentions the ukulele scene which is a good hour plus in. Some people shouldn't be let near the internet. Tsk tsk.- Was this review helpful to you?
