Not as good as Brendan Fraser's 3 -D version !!!!!!!!!By williamsgwynfa (627 reviews) from gwaenysgor , 22 Sep 2008
[Highly rated reviewer]this dvd is poor in comparison to the Brendan Fraser version called Journey To The Centre Of The Earth (3-D).
Journey To Middle Earth stars Greg Evigan (from National Treasure), Jennifer Dorogi (from Shop Like A Star) & Dedee Pfeiffer (best known for playing Rachel Blanders in Cybill alongside Cybill Shepherd).
This film is scripted from The Jules Verne Classic of his novel called Journey To The Centre Of The Earth.
The search is on for a hidden entrance, leading in to an unknown world, that time has forgotton, which is situated miles and miles below the earth's surface.
The mission or quest for this journey is to rescue a research team trapped deep below the Earth's surface, with the aid of a hi-tech drilling rig.
The film starts okay, but when the searchers find the hidden world, you would expect spectacular special effects of pre-historic creatures to appear, (along the lines of Jurassic Park - in keeping with the book), sadly this is not the case in this film, and the few you do see are less than convincing.
This spoils the whole film, but you would have to watch it yourselves to see what I mean.

Utter TrashBy a customer from Basingstoke , 28 Sep 2010Never before have I seen such an amateurish load of trash. Jules Verne would turn in his grave. Save your time and energy on this one. Dreadful acting. Thank goodness Michelle Ffeiffer is a far superior actress to her sister.
no stars actuallyBy a customer from scotland , 01 Aug 2010only watch this if you want to see truly terrible acting, terrible writing and ridiculous special effects - it is not so bad it's good - it is just bad
Watch this at your peril!By Danno01 (31 reviews) from Hastings , 07 Apr 2010This review contains a spoiler.
This is truly a bad film deserving 0 stars out of 10 on two counts; there are NO 'stars' appearing in the film, and it is probably the worst made for TV film in years.
It bears no resemblance to 'Journey to the centre of the Earth' or the Jules Verne fiction.
A bunch of women with guns are testing a military teleport machine that goes wrong and leaves them stuck in the lower mantel being attacked by dinosaurs! Another of their female compatriots has invented a boring machine and goes after them. Oh and there is a six foot diameter spider. Exciting....not! That's as far as I got (50 mins).
Read the book, or watch the wonderful original, both are better ways to pass an evening.
Don'r bother with this.
