I wanna go, I wanna go...hot rockin'!
By MrVengeance from Essex , 15 Feb 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
A real Priest fest here, not just a concert but all the promo videos and old grey whistle test/TOTP performances thrown in as a bonus.
The concert is a good selection of Priest tracks, including Some Heads Are Gonna Roll, Youve Got Another Thing Coming and all the usual classics . This was just after the release of Turbo; big hairdos were the order of the day for both band and audience. Glenn and KK pull the usual formation guitar swinging poses, plus industrial staging and designer leather outfits all round.
The videos are hilarious, and let's assume they were meant to be tongue in cheek! Who'd have thought it was possible to hold up a bank by pointing guitars at terrified bank staff (the drummer waits in the car), or to make some square's head explode by cranking it up to the max? That'll teach 'em. In 'Locked In', Rob Halford is rescued from the clutches of some scantily clad, lustful slave women - close one, Rob!
But the real gems come in the early performances before they went fully NWOBHM - Rocka Rolla and Dreamer Deceiver are thoughtful, almost progressive rock songs which they sadly moved away from as they found their niche. A shame that in all videos and concert footage the cameras are firmly planted on Rob, KK and Glenn, the rhythm section of Ian Hill and Dave Holland barely seen in the background.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from London , 10 Jul 2006Like Judas Priest? You will love this DVD. Just as another reveiwer says, now that you look at Rob in that era, it is all so obvious now to see he was on that side of the fence! Great cvideos from the past! The concert was great too!- Was this review helpful to you?

WHY?
By a customer from Sunny Huddersfield, England , 25 Feb 2005Okay so I'm getting on a bit and watching grown men in leather whipping Harleys is no longer my favourite pastime but I still like a bit of the old British Steel. Oh those wonderfull days when Rob just looked a bit silly in his spandex (gosh it was so obvious when you think about it. Wasn't it?) And those very funny videos. Breaking The Law still cracks me up and there's the 'spot the bass player' game from Top Of The Pops. So, for a good laugh you just can't beat the extras disk. However. Disk 1, Live is obviously aimed at the American market, consisting of the previously available(VHS) Priest Live. Great show but far too much 'soft metal' from the very Americanised Turbo album. Would have been much better with a compilation of other live shows. So if you like your Priest all Hell Bent For Leather then this isn't for you. If you like them with a lot of Parental Guidance.......... Does anybody want to buy a Priest ticket for Manchester?- Was this review helpful to you?

This could have been better
By mac2000 from West Lothian , 11 Oct 2004Not a very good DVD for the band.
I start with the videos, which are bad and the sound quality is not 5.1. More like the same sound in all speakers.
The concert was ok, but it's not Priest at their best.- Was this review helpful to you?
