What a bummer - and a true story too - so doubling difficult to make a right dog's b/fast out of it , but they succeed here. Off power acting, iffy script and the worst sound dubbing you will hear in many an hour. Read the book instead.

  • Worth a watch on a rainy day..

Jump, starring Ben Silverstone and Patrick Swayze is loosely based on the photographer Philippe Halsman’s life, and the traumatic murder of his father. Set in Austria in 1928, Philippe, who is a Jew, is blamed for the murder because of apparent ‘evidence’. Great film, well put together, worth a watch.. but not my type of thing.

  • Terrible film with Anorectic Patrick Swayze

    Rated - 0.0 stars
By Kalina (30 reviews) from London , 06 Jul 2009
The guy who played the main part was ok-ish. The rest were like Big Brother contestants trying to pose as actors. Bad. Patrick Swayze looks anorectic there and his acting is terrible as well, I was half expecting him to start having the time of his life but it never happened and I certainly didn't.

The styling is super bad, it looks like cheap modern version one would wear for a fancy dress party. Nothing looks authentic, the East-enders accent mixed with American bla bla bla just pile of nothingness . Do not bother. Unless you're a masochist.

  • Very good historical-factual drama

This is an extremely good film, with a star turn from Ben Silverstone, who is uniformly excellent. Some of the supporting cast are a little wooden (hence the rating) but Silverstone's performance begs the question - why hasn't he been cast in more films? In many respects, this guy is a much more substantial actor than some doing the rounds at present.

  • Potential Lost

I was willing this film to improve all the way through and it just didn't. There was so much potential for it to succeed, one of the few true stories in the world which would have converted well on to film. The casting of Swayze in the title role and his inability to act made the film painful to watch, and I couldn't help thinking that if there had been a bigger budget for the film it would have been a lot better. An interesting story sitting behind the film, but not interesting enough to make this film worth watching - I'd read up on the story somewhere else if I were you!
