[Highly rated reviewer]this has to be one of the best adventure stories of all time.
A billionaire played by Richard Attenborough decides to create a theme park based entirely around prehistoric dinosaurs. the film starts with the park being almost complete. several invited guests such as doctor grant played by sam neill, are sent around the park to evaluate it, and they learn that the generation of dinosaurs that are thriving in the park, came from mosquitos through an interesting process - nicely shown though a funny cartoon.
But as mathematician ian malcolm played by Jeff Goldblum soon explains, humans from the current age and dinosaurs from millions of years ago can't adapt, as they soon find out!...
well worth renting out.

Just for the craicBy a customer from Edinburgh , 18 Jul 2008This has to be a kids' classic, I don't even know why I'm bothering to review it, but guess I just had to say how much fun it is to cosy up on the sofa with your kid, pizza, juice and ice-cream easily to hand, and let your mind just go with what's on the screen in front of you, no arguments. The special effects and animatronics do their job and there is nicely measured child-friendly tension. It's a fun rental and always will be for 5 - 12 yr olds at least (the T-Rex escape and velociraptors-in-the-kitchen scenes will be highlights), and for any parent prepared to join in.

Stands the test of timeBy a customer from London , 03 Jun 2008Remeber first seeing this at the cinema and being a big scardy cat. Obviously it doesn't have the same effect but it is still fantastic viewing!
Dinosaurs on loose on Michael Crichton's fictional islandBy Stevekenhoddob (1 review) from London , 23 Mar 2008Jurassic Park, as the title suggests, is about a large open area with creatures from the Jurassic period. The Jurassic period was a momentous epoch for human kind - historians recently confirmed that this was a period of 12 years in between richard nixon's first stab at the whitehouse and his election campaign for a second term.
The movie stars Jeff Golblum as a man who tries to turn himself into a fly (using a microwave on defrost for 3 minutes). Sam Neill pulled a star turn as Captain's ExO of a Soviet sub tracking some silent renegade vessel valiantly steered by Shaun Connery. Talking of miracles, Richard Attenbrough, the often overlooked retard sibling of David, proved a poor choice as the red caped crusader buglarising 34th Street. Little known to audiences, the velocoraptors were indeed the Olsen twins in negligible costume.
Plotwise, the film was not only a letdown in a conventional sensee, but also bared no resemblance to historical facts. Spiro Agnew was well depicted as the T.Rex, however.
all in all, well worth watching.
