Just like... A good romantic comedy.
OK, so it's not hilariously funny, the plot takes some believing and this film is about as intellectually challenging as watching Richard & Judy. But so what! The leading characters Elizabeth (Reese Witherspoon) and David (Mark Ruffalo) are both attractive and likeable and their relationship builds at a nice pace so most viewers will be there at the end hoping for a happy conclusion. The acting from leads and support is good and the film has a warm glow about it, managing to be romantic without quite becoming fingers down the throat stuff. Even a big hairy bloke like me who's not supposed to like this type of film enjoyed it. If you're a hardened cynic with no romance in your soul you'll hate it, for the rest of us of it's a fine feel good movie. Great for a cosy night in — all you'll need is this film, a comfy sofa and someone to cuddle up with...

Witherspoon to develop murder movie

Reese Witherspoon's production company Type A Films is to develop a movie adaptation of a real-life account detailing a high school murder, it has emerged. The book, released in 1997, details events surrounding the killing of a Canadian student and the following investigation into the crime.
