Just My Luck

Director Donald Petrie
Genres Comedy, Romance
Run time 98 mins Certificate PG

On one level, I realise this is not actually that good a film. It's clichéd, sickly sweet, and in places terribly acted, but in spite of my inner film critic, I honestly kind of love it.

Lindsay Lohan's character starts out, frankly, quite unlikeable, but as her luck transfers to the unlucky (and considerably charismatic) Chris Pine, she begins to redeem herself. Pine has charm to spare, and together they have a fair amount of chemistry, which is the main reason why the film works for me in spite of its many flaws.

Leave your brain at the door and, provided you have a tolerance for romcoms, you'll enjoy this fun, frothy little piece of fluff.
