Every once in a while there comes a really good film...By Filmon Ka Deewana from Suffolk, England , 02 Aug 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]Yet another wholesome entertainer from Yash Johar. The entire story is based in New York. Spiced with romance, humour and pathos, it follows the lines of Karan Johar's earlier films like 'Kuch Kuch Hotha Hai' and 'Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Ghum' wherein Indian culture, values and the joint family ambience is depicted with so much warmth and sensitivity.
Weaved into the structure is the triangular romance between Rohit (Saif Ali Khan), Aman (Shah Rukh) and Naina (Preity Zinta). Sans the overdose of glamour and action, the film yet manages to capture audience attention for the entire narration proving that a well-told story and neat presentation works better than no proper scripting and frills galore.
With Karan Johar scripting the film, it is directed by debutant Nikhil Advani. But it's the Karan Johar touch that you see throughout the film.
Shah Rukh is splendid, re-establishing his credentials as an actor with an abundance of emotional reportoire, wrenching our hearts with his portrayal. Preity Zinta seems to improve from film to film, her bubbliness and spontaneous performance reminding one of Kajol, filling the void Kajol has left. Saif is the surprise package, lively and holding his own against the emotional onslaught of Shah Rukh. And there's Jaya Bachchan as Preity's mother, a delight to watch on the screen even today
Withan excellent sound track fitting well in with the rest of the movie, it's a not-to-be-missed film.

Best Bollywood movie ever with Shahrukh in his prime!By CrazyMovieGuy (7 reviews) , 30 May 2013I watched this movie when it was first released in theatres and I must say it GOT ME! It is campy, romantic, dramatic and just brilliant with one of the best Bollywood Soundtracks ever. It also has my best Bollywood song in the title track which is played out at the most poignant part in the movie. So enjoy with the whole family!!!

Very sadBy migratingfishswim (19 reviews) from crewe , 17 Nov 2011Well-written, directed and acted. A strong, melodramatic story.
Unlike most Bollywood films, this has a sad ending - I cried for the last 10 minutes and for 15 minutes afterwards!
Kal Ho Naa HoBy a customer , 04 Aug 2011I enjoyed this film. It was very well acted showing a snapshot of life 'warts and all'. However it also included some humour and a twist in the plot which gave some suspense while remaining integral to the story.
