  • Delightful, beautiful, charming and yet disturbing.

This is one of those lovely British films that evoke the best of Ealing type comedies. A gentle comedy about a vicar, his wife, his daughter, his son and their lovely sweet charming life in a delightful country village. That's what it feels like, except the daughter is a nymphomaniac, the wife is trying to have an affair and the vicar is played by Rowan Atkinson...so it's a wacky comedy then, except it isn't. Due to a wonderful restrained performance by Atkinson and a beautifully authentic performance by Kirsten Scot-Thomas, the film remains 'real'. Then enters Maggie Smith a a Mary Poppins type, who is wonderful, as is Maggie Smith..she has one little character flaw though, she 's a mass murderer...This is a lovely film , with superb performances a witty script, but somehow it's amorality leaves one a disturbing taste.

Was quite funny, but didn't need the bad language and sex scenes. Some slapstick/unrealistic parts, which i don't usually like but this film got away with.

Such a fantastic film. I wasnt expecting alot from this film but was pleasantly surprised by it.

A great cast and an even better story line.

I had actual 'LOL' moments, I even re-played a few scenes twice.

A brilliant film. Well done to the producer.

    Top marks from me!

this film isn't one of these in your face hilarious comedy's, its much more subtle than that.

it is funny though, and has a weird but cute story through it.

    defo worth watching
