should be and Urban legend..........
Anybody reading this will probably have come across Keith Urban by mistake or heard his name most recently linked to Nicole Kidman. He is in fact one of the biggest Country stars in the US at the moment winning a couple of Country Music Awards (akin to pop and rock Grammy awards) last year. But don't let the label 'country music' put you off. Today country music comes in many forms and it has moved a long way from the style Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and co. used to purvey. Keith Urban is a young Australian guy who, though influenced by the country sound and style of the American south, is in my opinion also aligned with the pop and rock styles of today. On this DVD you will find many off his best tunes to-date, very listenable, very melodic and very catchy. I personally am not a country fan in any shape though I would say I do have eclectic taste in music from Green Day and the Foo Fighters through U2 to current bands including The Killers, Hard-Fi and Razorlight. Keith may be more comfortable sitting with say, The Eagles or Bryan Adams, but for a young guy who writes, plays and sings his own material and is highly regarded in the world of country music I wouldn't like to bucket him. I love these little acts of serendipity and feel I was lucky to stumble over these great tunes and lovely voice. I know it's unlikely Keith will be gigging over here due to the lack of interest in country music in the UK, but I for one will be looking out for a Keith Urban gig the next time I'm in the US. If you like a good old fashioned concert where the star gets up and does his own thing and your open to new vibes then rent this, you won't regret it..... even Westlifers will like this guy!
