Oscar winner Mann dies

Legendary screenwriter Abby Mann, who penned the 1961 classic Judgement At Nuremberg, has died. Mann, who was also nominated for an Oscar for 1965's Ship of Fools, was a prolific television and film writer. He was also the creator of classic TV detective show Kojak, which starred Telly Savalas of Kelly's Heroes and The Dirty Dozen. Eastwood film saddles up for Cannes

Screen legend Clint Eastwood will premiere his new film, Changeling, at the Cannes International Film Festival in France next month, according to reports. The BBC says the 1920s-set thriller, which stars Angelina Jolie, John Malkovich and Capote's Amy Ryan, tells the story of woman whose son is kidnapped. Letters From Iwo Jima, the story of Japanese-American conflict during World War II, has been named as best picture of the year by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. The film is directed by Clint Eastwood and is a companion piece to the movie veteran's latest project, Flags of Our Fathers, reports Studio Briefing.
