    [Highly rated reviewer]

Fantastic film loosely based on the true story of Danny Greene, the Irishman who took on the mafia. Wonderful, understated performance by Ray Stevenson as Danny Greene depicting the violent yet honourable Irishman. Some other reviews will tell you that this missed the mark by means of a gangster film but take the film as it is - based on a true story and a thoroughly enjoyable movie for those who like a storyline to gangster movies. Not quite Goodfellas etc but worth watching. Excellent supporting roles from Vince Denofrio and others to boot.

Brilliant! The movie is up there with Goodfellas. ray Stevenson is excellent in the lead role although most recognisable star Val Kilmer is terrible.

Wonderfully well told story, if a little rushed a times, based on what is a true story and if it wasn't so would have been rather too implausible. Director Jonathan Hensleigh does a good job here with a cast full of well known faces who all bring their usual gravitas to the screen. Although who cast Vinnie Jones, with one of the most appalling Irish accents ever heard, I have no idea! Just an idea, but did the American car industry design all their cars with such large trunks, so that the mobsters could easily fit all those bodies in? And you thought that The Sopranos made good use of them!? A great film, well worth the rent.
