Triple Team!

Sometimes movies come along that are predictable, silly, convoluted, badly acted. this has elements of all those factors but it plays to its strengths which is; pretty frenetic and well shot action scenes from, lets not forget, a first time director. Everything else is well under par.
The thing that does play better than the rest involves the suspense and intrigue that comes with trying to decide who really is the bad guy here?
The script is poorly conceived, the editing of the plot strands a mess, the acting bar the main players is atrocious although Dominic Purcell's English-welsh-Australian hybrid, cocky assassin has some fun with his dialogue. The plot has holes the size of, well the universe, though i was intrigued by the story of 'what would Osama do if his sons were murdered' until i realized eventually that what they answer that with here is alarmingly stupid(oh hang on; based on a true story, ummmm).
But like i say, the action is handled well and is a throwback to the sort of action frolics that made some of the best action films of the 90s look like masterpieces and say what you like about Statham but hes just worked with one of the greatest acting talents that ever graced our screens. I've seen worse in this genre thats for sure- Was this review helpful to you?

Same Old Same Old
By a customer , 16 Mar 2013A basic Jason Statham film, shoot them up and ask questions later? Same old, same old, why do I continue with these films (a glutton for punishment).- Was this review helpful to you?

Shouldve been awsome
By Kajmer (5 reviews) , 12 Mar 2013Looking at the cast it was dissapointing.. Jason statham is my favourite action movie actor and it was almost as if they hadnt met the standards needed for jasons movies, dont take my judgement for it maybe i didnt listen hard enough, i found it easy to lose the story and to be honest i could probably only describe half the story.- Was this review helpful to you?

Give this one a miss
By KarlGustav (4 reviews) , 06 Mar 2013If you want to watch a film called The Killer Elite, I suggest you rent the 1975 film with James Caan and Robert Duvall, because it is far better than this mess, which is it one to be avoided (I wish I had). The most memorable aspects are 1. The Moustaches: It's like a Freddy Mercury Lookalike Convention, 2. The number of times the term 'S. A. S.' is used, it made me think of Chief Wiggum telling Homer to 'stop saying Hawaii'. The plot and dialogue are third rate, at best. The setting is 1980/81, which adds to this looking like a bad episode of The Sweeney. It isn't much below par for someone like Jason Statham, but I was surprised that Robert De Niro thought it worthwhile, he surely can't need the money.- Was this review helpful to you?
